Knack Man Doug Fieger dead at 57

while the Knack burned brightly, for me at least, boy, they really opened the door to a ton of other, and frankly, better, power pop bands. but alas, some also got caught in the "Knuke The Knack" backlash that the band garnered in the wake of their huge initial success...in retrospect, at the time the didn;t do alot of press interviews, etc, which led to the always-reliable press to start tearing down whatever success the band had built.....

That may have had something to do with it.
Ultimately, it seems it was their whole attitude that repulsed prople.
Compelling song structures, magnetic delivery, sure...
but when you are dissing disadvantaged people ("The Monkey and Me" - about Siamese twins), and celebrating the pursuit of little girls...all the while sporting a sh-t eater smile...
